Dr. Rick Posthuma Promoted to Professor of Management

Dr. Rick Posthuma has been promoted to the rank of Professor of Management in the UTEP College of Business Administration Department of Marketing and Management.
Rick is an expert on conflict management and negotiation, HR management and labor law, and risk management. He earned his Masters degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University in 1977, his JD (cum laude) from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1992, and his PhD in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from Purdue University in 1999. He is admitted to practice law in Michigan and the District of Columbia. He is certified as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR). He has more than 15 years of professional work experience in human resource management, risk management, and law.
He has published numerous articles in leading journals including Applied Psychology: An International Review, Industrial Relations, International Journal of Cross Cultural Management, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, and Personnel Psychology. He is the Editor of the International Journal of Conflict Management.
His research interests include conflict management and negotiation, international issues, interviews, employee staffing, and risk management. He has taught courses in Conflict Management and Negotiation, Employee Compensation, Employee Relations and Collective Bargaining, Human Resource Management, Labor Law, Leadership, Organizational Behavior, Multivariate Statistics, Staffing and Selection Procedures, Strategic Management, and Survey Research.
