The UTEP MBA is designed for students from a wide range of backgrounds who are looking for a challenging graduate business education that features experiential learning opportunities and a strong global focus. By offering a menu of flexible schedules, class formats, and professional development services, the UTEP MBA meets the needs of full-time students, working professionals, and established business/non-profit leaders. Our students bring professional perspectives to the classroom from a range of backgrounds including healthcare, engineering, education, military, manufacturing, financial services, and cross-border business. Leveling classes are not required for non-business undergraduate majors.
Today, the UTEP MBA serves a diverse population of over 200 students from all over the world. Students attend classes in the UTEP Graduate Business Center in downtown El Paso.
The UTEP MBA has been ranked among the “Best of the Best” MBA Schools by Professional Woman’s, Hispanic Network, and Black EOE Journal Magazines since 2012. The UTEP MBA was also ranked #1 in the nation by Hispanic Business magazine for five consecutive years. For Working Professionals
The UTEP Accelerated MBA (AMBA) is a fast-track, cohort style MBA option that combines quality, convenience, and affordability for the region’s working professionals. Through the AMBA, students can complete their MBA degree in just two years by attending class twice a week on evenings and Saturdays. Students advance through the 48 hour curriculum in six week lock-step modules with a cohort of their peers. Hassle-free garage parking and catered meals are provided to ease the transition from the work-day to the classroom. UTEP offers the only AACSB-accredited AMBA program in the region.
The UTEP Executive MBA (EMBA) is an 18-month cohort format that serves business leaders with at least 5 years of managerial experience who seek to enhance their effectiveness, expand their skillset, and grow their network. EMBA courses are offered every other week (twice monthly) on Friday and Saturday with two courses being offered every 10 weeks. Classes are held from 8:00am to 5:00pm. UTEP EMBA students engage the curriculum through 12 strategically-designed modules, including a 7-9 day study abroad course. UTEP EMBA students also benefit from career enhancing features such as executive coaching and a speaker series.
For Full-Time Students
The UTEP Full-Time MBA (FTMBA) is a 21 month program that delivers a dynamic interdisciplinary curriculum combined with extensive experiential learning and professional development opportunities. UTEP FTMBA students participate in Corporate Engagement Projects that allow them to engage real business challenges with corporate partners. Students receive guidance from seasoned executives through a COBA Mentorship Program. Students also receive targeted career development support and resources. The UTEP FTMBA is an ideal launching point for early career or transitioning professionals.
UTEP offers the only AACSB Accredited MBA program in the El Paso/Cd. Juarez region. The UTEP College of Business Administration
has earned AACSB Accreditation for both its Business Administration and
Accounting programs. Less than 5 percent of business schools world-wide have
earned this prestigious designation from AACSB International—The Association
to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business—which provides global leadership in
advancing management education.
