Business College Council Collects Almost 5,000 Pounds of Clothing for Goodwill

Brenda ArrietaThe Business College Council at the College of Business Administration participated in the 2nd Annual FirstLight Federal Credit Union Sun Bowl Parade Clothing Drive and Business Challenge. The Challenge began September 12 and ran through October 14, 2011. The purpose of the clothing drive is to bring attention to the unemployment that exists in the El Paso/Southern New Mexico community. Recipients of the donations are the El Paso Armed Services YMCA, The Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home, La Casa (a nonprofit organization providing comprehensive services, including shelter, in order to diminish domestic violence and abuse in all forms), The American Red Cross, and soldiers and their families.

The FirstLight Federal Credit Union Sun Bowl Parade Clothing Drive Business Challenge winner was announced October 26th on KVIA. Congratulations to the BCC for earning third place by collecting 4,964 pounds of clothing.
