UTEP Business Wins ¬°Adelante! Educational Partner of the Year Award

November 1, 2011

A group of College of Business Administration students recently attended the ¡Adelante! 2011 National Leadership Institute & Career Expo that was held on October 15 – 17th in San Antonio, Texas. UTEP was presented with the 2011 Educational Partner of the Year award during this event.

For more than a decade, ¡Adelante!’s leadership development programs have trained hundreds of young aspiring leaders throughout the country. These programs enrich the college experience by providing students the personal tools, professional training and the exposure necessary to make a difference in their community and launch successful careers.

To help develop a pipeline of emerging leaders, the Leadership Institute is attended by the best and brightest Latino college students from around the nation. They participate in workshops and presentations conducted by corporate, government and community leaders.

Students network with professionals in a variety of fields, many of whom offer internship and employment opportunities. When the conference ends, the student participants return to their campuses enthusiastic about their futures, determined to seek out solutions to the challenges of our society, and with more self-confidence in their abilities to assume leadership roles in their communities.
