MBA Program Earns International Ranking

The University of Texas at El Paso’s Master of Business Administration program earned one more accolade to close out 2012 and it was on an international scale., a European-based Internet company, recently announced that the UTEP College of Business Administration’s M.B.A. program ranked 28th among the world’s top 35 “Rising Star” business schools. This is the first year that UTEP’s M.B.A. program has made the list, which began in 2009. The Grenoble Graduate School of Business in France topped the 2012 ranking.

The company based its findings on factors such as full-time faculty members, new hires and GMAT scores, as well as the significant steps the institutions have made to improve themselves in recent years and their plans for the future, according to the organization’s website. lauded UTEP’s M.B.A. program for its international focus, affordability, flexible schedules and class formats, and diversity of students who hail from more than 20 countries.

"Our faculty and staff are thankful for the recognition provided by the FindyourMBA Rising Star rankings,” said Robert Nachtmann, D.B.A., dean of UTEP’s College of Business Administration. “Mostly, we are thankful for the confidence that M.B.A. candidates place in us as we jointly empower our students with the business science and art that is so necessary for organizational success in this wondrous world of global competitive achievement."

The program has earned national attention in recent years after Hispanic Business magazine ranked it No. 1 among business graduate schools the past three years. The University also offers the only business administration and accounting programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business in the El Paso region.
