Dr. Erik Devos Promoted to Associate Professor of Finance

Dr. Erik Devos has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor of Finance in the UTEP College of Business Administration Department of Economics and Finance.
Erik is an expert on corporate finance and real estate. He earned his Masters degree in Financial Economics from Erasmus University in Rotterdam with specializations in accounting and finance. He obtained his Ph. D. in finance from Binghamton University (SUNY) in 2003. He has taught graduate and undergraduate classes in subjects such as money and markets, corporate finance, real estate, capital markets, and intro to finance. He won the Graduate Finance Professor of the Year award in 2006.
His research interests are mainly in corporate finance and he has published in journals including Review of Financial Studies, Financial Management, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics. In addition to research presentations at several universities, his research has been presented at several national and international finance, accounting, and real estate conferences and has won 1st runners up at the FMA International Conference, category “Corporate Finance” in 2005 and the award for best paper in the “REIT” category at the 2006 ARES meetings.
Erik is married to Elizabeth Devos and they have twin sons, Elden and Enthony, born in 2004.
