New College of Business Administration Seal Unveiled
May 19, 2010
Working collaboratively with the Office of University Communications, the new COBA seal was designed by UTEP’s Director of Graphic Design Services, Michael Nuñez. The college had the new emblem designed for official college-related banners, signs and publications.
The seal incorporates the University’s colors, the work ethic of business represented by the Miner pick, the scrolls associated with commerce and contracting, an emblematic inference to the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the burning flame of knowledge and wisdom, a background setting of the globe for enterprise, and wreath components signifying success in business and in life.
“This seal is intended to replace the time-dependent seal of the College of Business Administration, which incorporated a computer mouse with cable and other time-sensitive descriptors, with a seal that is business relevant but timeless,” said Robert Nachtmann, D.B.A., dean of the College of Business Administration.
The college offers the region’s only MBA programs accredited by the AACSB, as well as an experienced faculty and a border setting ideal for the study of business at the local, regional, national and international levels. Degree programs include some of the following, Bachelor of Business Administration, an Accelerated MBA, International MBA as well as degrees in Accounting and Computer Information Systems.
Designed to accommodate students from all backgrounds, UTEP’s graduate business programs have been ranked No. 2 in the nation for Hispanics by Hispanic Business magazine.
