Dr. Erik Devos got a Masters degree in Financial Economics from Erasmus University in Rotterdam with a specialization in accounting and finance. He obtained his Ph. D. in finance from Binghamton University (SUNY) in 2003 and has since been affiliated with Ohio University and is currently a professor of finance at UTEP. He has taught classes on different levels in money and markets, corporate finance and intro to finance and won the graduate finance professor of the year award in 2006. His research interests are mainly in corporate finance and he has published in journals such as (among others) Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics. His research won 1st runners up at the FMA International Conference, category of Corporate Finance in 2005, the award for best paper in the REIT category at the 2006 ARES meetings, and the college research award for 2009.
