Prior to joining the UTEP doctoral program in International Business with specialization in Finance, Fred Hampel held full-time faculty appointments with Kansas State University, Texas A&M University, Colorado State University, and the University of Colorado Denver. Most recently, he was Associate Professor of Business and Economics at Colorado Mountain College and served as Interim Dean of Red Rocks Community College. He has taught over 110 sections of courses spanning the disciplines of economics, accounting and statistics. As an economist, Fred consults in matters of business valuation, commercial damages litigation, and simulation-based financial modeling of strategic alternatives under risk. He conducts continuing professional education (CPE) training to practitioners in these fields. His corporate experience is in the strategy and risk management of physical and derivative trading portfolios in the energy and agricultural commodity markets. Fred has owned and operated several start-up business ventures in commercial agriculture.
