Biography

Aniruddha Pangarkar is a PhD student in International Business with a specialization in Marketing at The University of Texas at El Paso. His research interests include marketing strategy, International Marketing and services marketing. His research paper "The Role of Cultural Distance in Business Relations: A Transaction Cost Analysis Perspective" is being presented at the prestigious AMA (American Marketing Association) conference in Cancun, Mexico in April 2014. Top scholars and researchers compete to present at this conference, which is the top Marketing conference in the world. He is also engaged in research and papers on topics such as service sabotage in the QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) industry, cultural distance, market entry modes, first-mover advantage/second-mover advantage, and high-performance work practices. In addition, Aniruddha teaches "Principles of Marketing" at the University and is a firm believer in TBL (Team Based Learning) and empowering students to achieve their learning goals. Prior to starting his PhD studies, Aniruddha earned an MBA degree in 2002 from the prestigious Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona, USA, which is the world's Number 1 ranked International Business school, and a Bachelor?s Degree in Commerce from Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (University of Pune) in Pune, India. He also possesses 14 years of extensive work experience in senior management and leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies such as Bank of New York Mellon, Credit Suisse and Avaya. Aniruddha's corporate experience involves setting-up of shared service centers in emerging countries like India, China, Philippines etc and successfully managing the Project Management function at investment banks in his capacity as Vice-President. He was instrumental in setting up and stabilizing several teams in the areas of Analytics, Equity Research, Wealth Management, Asset Management, OTC Derivatives, Sales & Trading, Hedge Funds and Prime Services for 2 of the world's leading investment banks- Bank of New York Mellon and Credit Suisse in India. Aniruddha has international corporate experience of living and working in countries such as USA, UK and India. He has lived and worked in 3 different continents- North America, Europe and Asia. In addition, he has traveled to 18 different countries across the globe and is a truly global citizen
