Research Interests
Production Planning, Supply Chain Models, Cellular Manufacturing, and Knowledge-Based Systems.
Biography
He received his Bachelor's, M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from The Georgia Institute of Technology, Stanford University, and The Pennsylvania State University respectively. He was recently awarded a Fulbright Scholar award, working at the Escuela Politecnica Nacional in Quito Ecuador. He has been awarded two NASA faculty fellowships at the Kennedy Space Center and a NASA Small Business Technology Transfer grant. Dr. Ruiz-Torres has also been awarded grants from the National Science Foundation and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. His research has been published in journals as the European Journal of Operational Research, the Journal of the Operational Research Society, Computers and Operations Research, the International Journal of Logistic Systems and Management, Journal of Production Economics, and Omega.
