Research Interests
The development of the health care industry. More specifically, the organizational structure and behavior of hospitals and staff. Looking at the differences of private and public hospitals, government and civilian systems, and rural and urban environments. With respect to employee productivity, patient satisfaction, mortality rates, budget utilization, physician care vs. fiduciary expectations by management.
Biography
Michelle Ruiz earned her MBA (Management and Health Organization Management) from Texas Tech University; and her B.A. (Philosophy and Women’s Studies) from Southern Methodist University. She has many years of experience in health care management in the public and private sector; where she spearheaded multiple projects to streamline process improvements of patient flow. Her current research interests are focused on the effects of organizational management in the health care environment.
